CA HSR Funds Included in Governor’s Budget
California Governor Newsom released a budget proposal on Monday that includes $4.2 billion in funding for high-speed rail. This is part of a larger $9.1 billion transportation package aimed at reducing dependence on driving.
The high-speed rail funding will go towards completing the initial Central Valley segment, completing the environmental review process for the entire San Francisco to Los Angeles/Anaheim project and provide support for several transit projects that will connect to the HSR network.
It is up to the California Legislature to appropriate these voter-approved funds and ensure that this transformational project is completed.
