Do you have friends in Texas?

April 17, 2015

Texas could introduce America’s first high-speed line if some vocal opponents in the state legislature don’t get in the way.

If there is one thing that always accompanies transformational infrastructure projects – projects like the Golden Gate Bridge or the Hoover Dam – it’s an army of naysayers trying to stand in the way of progress.

Can you take a minute today, to pass this on to your friends in Texas? We need Texas lawmakers, to know there is support for this project. Any Texas resident can show their support here.

State lawmakers and misinformed opposition groups from rural districts in Central Texas are waging a full-out campaign against the proposed Houston-Dallas high-speed line. They appear to be unaware that high-speed rail has a minimal impact on farms and ranches. Especially, since the preferred route will parallel existing high voltage electric utility corridors with a footprint of just 50-100 feet wide. You can read more about their effort here – including an ominous-looking bill in the Texas Senate.

The Texas project is one of America’s greatest hopes for high-speed rail. Please pass this email almong to your friends in Texas and make sure these lawmakers don’t hold us back.
