This summer, Detroit celebrated the reopening of its iconic train station, Michigan Central. The Ford Motor Company bought the 30-acre site in 2018, and made it an innovation hub for Michigan’s economy.
There’s just one thing missing: trains!

Ford is already using the campus as the hub of its “future mobility” initiatives. The revitalization of Michigan Central has also sparked development nearby, such as the opening of Newlab, a space for more than 100 startups.
What better way to enhance all this investment in the future than with high-speed rail?
Fast, frequent train service to and from the Michigan Central campus would make collaboration easier for its inventive new residents. The iconic station could once again connect Detroit with cities like Chicago, Cleveland, and Toronto—in a fraction of the time it takes to drive, or even to fly.
To celebrate the rebirth of Michigan Central and to advance this vision of making the station a hub for great trains, the High Speed Rail Alliance has created a new poster. It shows modern trains serving the historic, renovated building.
