California: Tell Sacramento to Advance Senate Bill 1425

Help expedite California High-Speed Rail permitting work

Unlike other state agencies (Caltrans, the Department of Water Resources, etc.), the California High-Speed Rail Authority cannot issue ordinary permits for work conducted on its right-of-way, such as sewer and water projects. This limitation has contributed to rising costs and further delays for the project.

Senate Bill 1425 would solve this by creating an encroachment permit program for the Authority. But the Assembly Appropriations Committee is holding up the bill.

We need your help to get SB 1425 in front of the full Legislature for a vote before the Aug. 31 session deadline.

Please send an email to the California State Assembly Appropriations Committee in support of advancing SB 1425. If you are a constituent of one of its 14 members, you will also be able to send a message directly to their office.

It’s time for California to get real about high-speed rail.
