Beth Coulson joined the HSRA Board of Directors in 2011. A resident of Glenview, Illinois, she was elected to seven terms in the Illinois Legislature, where she helped found the Passenger Rail Caucus. She led successful efforts to increase and upgrade Amtrak service in Illinois.
A physical therapist by profession, who also earned an M.B.A. in Finance, Beth taught at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science for 22 years and became a Department Chair. She recently completed her term as Chairman of the Board of the Medical School. Beth also serves on the Boards of a number of not-for-profit organizations. She regularly rides Amtrak and Metra, and has traveled by rail in six continents.
