Speaker: Tod Bassler, President of the Indiana Passenger Rail Alliance
Transportation choices in the last 100 years have shaped North America in a lopsided manner. It’s time to consider rebalancing what we have. The population of the USA has doubled in the last 65 years, while our transportation options have become less dense and more private. Is this what we want? Is this the best way to prepare our children for their future?
While Hoosier decision makers in recent decades have focused on highway and air travel, there is hope for better transportation options in Indiana. We’ll discuss what is currently brewing and what it will take for it to become reality. Our speaker, Tod Bassler, grew up in Illinois, Ohio and Europe. He has been a member of HSRA for more than 15 years, and today he leads the Indiana Passenger Rail Alliance.
