The Empire State Passengers Association is hosting a Rally for Amtrak.

When: Thursday September 7th, 1pm ET

Where: Amtrak Station, 69 South Front Street, Hudson, NY 12534

Why: To urge Congressman Molinaro and our Congressional delegation to oppose cuts to Amtrak funding proposed by the House Appropriations Committee.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the FY24 THUD Appropriations bill in mid-September. The proposed bill would cut Amtrak funding by 64% from the FY23 adopted budget and reduce Federal Railroad Administration capital program grants passenger rail by 60%. The Senate Appropriations Committee has not recommended large cuts to Amtrak funding for FY24. If adopted these cuts will result in greatly reduced Amtrak service in the Hudson Valley and across New York State.

Invited Speakers:

  • Congressman Marc Molinaro
  • Mayor Kamal Johnson
  • Assemblymember Didi Barrett
  • Assemblymember Scott Benedict
  • State Senator Michelle Hinchey
  • State Senator Rob Rolison
  • More TBA
