Speaker: Jarred Johnson, Executive Director, TransitMatters

Watch the video to learn about TransitMatters’ advocacy for Regional Rail in Boston. They envision a new business model centered around transforming the region’s commuter rail network into a modern, electric network and fleet of vehicles to bring rapid-transit like frequent and reliable service to the entire Metro Boston region. This would be transformative for the region and their work is a good model for other commuter rail networks looking to make the switch to a Regional Rail system.

We will be joined by Jarred Johnson, the Executive Director of the Boston-based transit advocacy group TransitMatters. Living in Boston, he’s embraced a car free lifestyle and knows how vital the MBTA is to the lives of so many in the region and to the economy. He’s looking forward to working with advocates and allies around the region to embolden the MBTA to consider the bigger picture and make bold, meaningful investments. He is particularly excited to make Regional Rail a reality. It has the potential to revolutionize how people live, work, and move around the Greater Boston region and lift up our Gateway Cities, and can serve as a model for transit improvements across the country.

It’s a Beautiful Country

Let’s see it. Let’s clean it. Let’s build it. Let’s make high speed rail a reality.
