The United States has some of the highest costs in the world for building transit projects. Why? New York University’s Transit Costs Project has explored this issue. The answers they’ve found have important implications for how to get American projects done more quickly and at lower cost. We’ll hear from Professor Eric Goldwyn, who leads the Transit Costs Project.

Professor Goldywn is a program director at NYU’s Marron Institute of Urban Management and an Assistant Professor in the Institute’s Transportation and Land-Use program. He received his Ph.D. in Urban Planning from Columbia University. He teaches courses on urban planning and urban studies, and his writing on cities and transportation technology has been published in academic journals and popular press outlets.
